John Pilger - Breaking the Mirror (The Murdoch Effect)
The British public were told that the new information technology, heralded by The Sun's move to Wapping, would bring a greater variety of newspapers and a more diverse media. But it produced a contracted press controlled by ever fewer proprietors. John Pilger describes the downfall of his old paper and the all-pervasive influence of Rupert Murdoch.

Stealing a Nation

A report about about the people of diego garcia (a former colony of Britain) and how the 2000 some population of black people was betrayed by its government, the British government. These people were living a peaceful life when the british government decided to deport them all unconditionally and hand the island over to the USA to be used as a MILITARY BASE! Those who refused to leave were tortured, starved and whatever deed possible was done to evacuate them. They were then relocated in horrendous slums in Mauritius. Most of them died of hunger, disease, poverty or just depression. Whole generations uprooted and destroyed. All thanks to the righteous British and American governments. This island today is used as a military base from where the americans have launched attacks on Iraq, Afghanistan and other countries.

War by other means

Barclays reported a pre-tax profit of £1.4bn for the first three months of the year, up 15% on the same period in 2008

In this Time of Economic Turmoil and the greed of people(western people). When I listen ordinary people that our governments must decrease or even stop all the humanitarian aid to the so called Third World Countries, because we are given to them too much and we must look after our people first. It really break my heart.I am loosing all faith in People (western people)

I think that is worth wile to see this extraordinary documentary by John Pilger. Here John Pilger and David Munro examine the policy of First World banks agreeing loans with Third World countries, who are then unable to meet the crippling interest charges

I will be very happy to have a couple of shilling less on my pocket,if i know that this will provide clean water for the more poor, medicine etc

I don't need any religion, nor even go to church to tell me that.I want to have faith in the people.

As always the propaganda of the main stream media plays its role,in not telling the whole truth. Our TV Screen are full with programs like "America next top Model","My Sweet Sixteen","Big Brothers","Many Soap programs "I called it Rubbish TV" and so on.

RE-THINK !!!! Don't stop the Aid,its need it.It's not to go on holidays, neither to buy cigarettes not to have a more fab clothes on the wardrobe not even for socialising and to go for a pint. Its for clean water, a little bite of rice medicines and education.

Aung San Suu Kyi

Aung San Suu Kyi a pro-democracy activist and leader of the National League for Democracy in Burma, and a noted prisoner of conscience and advocate of nonviolent resistance. Aung San Suu Kyi was the third child in her family. Her name is derived from three relatives; "Aung San" from her father, "Kyi" from her mother and "Suu" from her grandmother. Suu Kyi won the Rafto Prize and the Sakharov Prize for Freedom of Thought in 1990 and the Nobel Peace Prize in 1991. In 1992 she was awarded the Jawaharlal Nehru peace prize by the Government of India for her peaceful and non-violent struggle under a military dictatorship. She is currently under detention, with the Burmese junta repeatedly extending her detention. According to the results of the 1990 general election, Suu Kyi earned the right to be Prime Minister, as leader of the winning National League for Democracy party, but her detention by the military junta prevented her from assuming that role. She is frequently called Daw Aung San Suu Kyi; Daw is not part of her name, but an honorific similar to madam for older, revered women, literally meaning "aunt".Strictly speaking, her given name is equivalent to her full name, but it is acceptable to refer to her as "Ms. Suu Kyi" or Dr. Suu Kyi, since those syllables serve to distinguish her from her father, General Aung San, who is considered to be the father of modern-day Burma.

Year Zero

Year Zero: The Silent Death of Cambodia

John Pilger vividly reveals the brutality and murderous political ambitions of the Pol Pot / Khmer Rouge totalitarian regime which bought genocide and despair to the people of Cambodia while neighboring countries, including Australia, shamefully ignored the immense human suffering and unspeakable crimes that bloodied this once beautiful country.
